One must have come across the term ‘Entrance Exam’. Entrance exams mean any kind of test which is taken at different levels to check the efficiency of students in connection to their subject knowledge to let them join the said institute they are writing the exam.
Entrance exams in India have become a rage now with so many prestigious examinations being taken every year and giving the students a lucrative chance to make their careers bright.
Some of the important entrance exams in India are IIT-JEE, an engineering entrance exam followed by CAT which is most important amongst MBA entrance exams. Other important entrance exams are PMT, UPSC, MAT, etc.
Let’s see some of the pivotal entrance exams in India.
IIT-JEE- Full form of IIT-JEE is Indian institute of Technology-joint entrance exam and is the most vital engineering entrance exam India has ever seen. Students who have passed out 10+2 or appearing for the same are eligible for IIT-JEE.
Subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English are asked in the entrance test.
Thus, it becomes imperative for students to have mastery in the above listed subjects to fringe out with enticing flying colors at the said entrance exam.
Eligibility- 12th pass or appearing.
CAT- CAT stands for common admission test and is conducted by the Indian institute of Management forum for students wanting to plunge on the likes of the famed, Indian institute of Management.
The test is considered as tough and complicated as students preparing for the same are required to put in extra efforts and also have an analytical capability to see things in an out of the box scenario.
English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Aptitude Tests form the basic crust of the syllabus based on these subjects and asked in the paper.
Students having passed the graduation in any discipline with a 50% passing marks and even students awaiting their final year results are also eligible to apply.
Eligibility- Graduation or appearing for final year exams.
MAT- MAT stands for management aptitude test also for admissions to institutes other than IIMs. Other criteria for the entrance test remain the same as for CAT. Eligibility- Graduation
MAT & CAT are the most important MBA entrance exam in the country.
AIEEE- AIEEE is the short name for all India engineering entrance examination held once a year and conducted by CBSE for engineering aspirants. Eligibility- 12th pass or appearing
COMED-K- It stands for consortium of medical, engineering and dental and conducted by Karnataka government for filling its seat for engineering, dental and medical colleges across the state including the Bangalore city. Eligibility- 12th pass or appearing
AIIMS- The most coveted entrance exam in the field of medicine is conducted by all India institutes of medical sciences, New Delhi once in a year for admission to the AIIMS. Eligibility- 12th pass or appearing
PMT- PMT is the short form for pre-medical test conducted by CBSE for filling various states colleges’ seats in medical and dental streams. Eligibility- 12th pass or appearing
PET- (Preliminary English Test) – PET is an exam for people who can use everyday written and spoken English at an intermediate level. It covers all four language skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking. Preparing for the exam is a popular way to develop and improve your language skills because it provides practical language practice in a variety of everyday work, study and leisure situations. Its an intermediate level exam.
Though cracking these desirable entrance exams is the dream of every student, it should be at the sole discretion of students to decide as to whether they have the meat to crack the exam.
Once that’s taken care of, it becomes sure that students does not faces the dilemma of not being the entrance cracking material and wasting their precious years just for the heck of the same and for their parents’ wishes.
